LA Dance Project is an artist collective founded in 2012 by renowned choreographer and dancer Benjamin Millepied with composer Nico Muhly, art consultant Matthieu Humery, producer Charles Fabius and film producer Dimitri Chamblas.
A multi award-winning dancer and former principal dancer at New York City Ballet, Millepied is also a renowned choreographer who has created works for some of the world’s best-known dance companies and artists, including New York City Ballet, Paris Opera Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Geneva Opera Ballet, Lyon Opera Ballet and Pennsylvania Ballet. Having choreographed and starred in Darren Aronofsky’s award-winning feature film Black Swan, he will take up the post of Director of Dance at the Paris Opera Ballet starting in September 2014.

LA Dance Project’s goal is to create new work and to revive seminal collaborations from influential dance makers. New works by the company endeavour to be multidisciplinary collaborations, working with visual artists, musicians, designers, directors and composers. In this programme, they present new works by Benjamin Millepied and Justin Peck, alongside William Forsythe’s Quintett.
