Born in Yorkshire, Richard Lloyd King moved to London to pursue his career. He attended the Italia Conti Stage School for training and has appeared in several shows to date. His career started with Dougie Squire’s Second Generation, which led him to live performances across the UK, as well as on TV. Following his success, Richard went on to work in Arlene Phillips’ Hot Gossip.

His theatre credits include the role of Dr Brodsby in A Clockwork Orange at the Theatre Royal, Stratford East; David in the UK tour of I Was Looking At The Ceiling And Then I Saw The Sky; Pooh-Bah in Hot Mikado at the Queen’s Theatre; Four-Eyed Moe in Five Guys Named Moe in the original 1991-95 cast at the Lyric Theatre; Bill Devaney in The Bodyguard at the Adelphi Theatre; Tito Suarez in Dirty Dancing at the Aldwych Theatre; John in Miss Saigon at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane; The Snake in Children Of Eden at Prince Edward Theatre; The Rum Rum Rugger in Cats at the New London Theatre; Richie in A Chorus Line at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane. Currently, Richard is playing the role of Mafala Hatimbi in The Book Of Mormon.
TV and Film:
On television, he has appeared as David in Mosley, Mr Albany in Doctors, Mr Sankofa in Hollyoaks, Mr Garrett in Torchwood, Keith Stratchen in Casualty, and Reverend Rudkin in Judge John Deed. Richard was in the films The Study and Can’t Stop The Music.
