Born 30th October 1989, Jay Perry Asforsis is a professional singer and actor. Hailing from Waltham Forest, he is an only child.
Jay wanted to audition for S Club Juniors but could not appear for it was his birthday. However, he had sent a tape of himself performing to S Club 7. His skills impressed them, and they let him through to the final auditions. After leaving the pop band, Jay also worked with a couple of other boybands like Chapter One before continuing with his passion for music in musicals.
He made his debut in the West End in Whistle Down the Wind, an Andrew Perry musical, in 1999- 2000. The show played at the Aldwych Theatre, and Perry worked alongside Britannia High actor Matthew James Thomas and Hollyoaks actress Hannah Tointon. As of March 2018, he has been playing the leading role of Berry Gordy in Motown: The Musical’s West End production at the Shaftesbury Theatre, London.

Jay went to The Susi Earnshaw Theatre School for his training and also attended Roding Valley High School.
Theatre:
He appeared in Beautiful – The Carole King Story at the West End in October 2013. He has also been in Whistle Down the Wind, Save The Last Dance For Me, Hairspray, Motown the Musical, Kiss Me, Kate. He is currently an ensemble in Thomas Kail’s Hamilton.
TV:
He also has several television credits to his name including S Club Search (television series 2001); The Big Breakfast (television series 2002); S Club Juniors: The Story (television mini-series documentary, 2002); Smash Hits Poll Winners Party 2002 (television special); CBBC Prom in the Park (television special 2002); Top of the Pops (television series 2002-03), and Smile (television series, 2004). He also appeared in thirteen episodes of the first season of the show “I Dream”.
