Brenda Blethyn stars in George Bernard Shaw's little performed, Mrs Warrens Profession, directed by theatre legend, Peter Hall.
Miss Vivie Warren is an educated, spirited, independent Cambridge University student with a sizeable income from her mother, the enigmatic Mrs Warren. When, after a lengthy absence abroad, Mrs Warren returns, it is evident that one question above all must be answered...what exactly is Mrs Warren's profession? And how will Vive react when she finds out where the money comes from?
The play, written in 1894 but denied a public performance license, was first performed in 1902 at a private members club - the New Lyric Club in London.
