Directed by Edward Hall, Artistic Director at the Hampstead Theatre, Chariots Of Fire will transfer to the West End thereafter. The premiere at the Hampstead Theatre will be the first time that Chariots Of Fire has been staged. Adapted by Mike Bartlett from the 1981 Oscar winning film by Colin Welland, the production promises to be an impressive experience with the theatre, designed by Miriam Buether, transformed into a stadium that evokes the 1924 Paris Olympics.
Mike Bartlett has also written Earthquakes in London for Headlong Theatre, 13 for the National, Love, Love, Love for Paines Plough, the Olivier Award Winning Cock, Contractions and My Child at the Royal Court and Artefacts at the Bush.
