Oh yes she is! Priscilla Presley swaps Dallas for panto

The reboot of classic 80s tv guilty pleasure Dallas has taken America by storm this summer and has just started airing on Channel Five in the UK.  A flock of the original cast have been lured back to the soapy drama series including Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray and the inimitable Larry Hagman, however there is no news yet as to whether Priscilla Presley will make an appearance in the show's second season.  Fans will however be able to catch her on this side of the pond this Christmas - treading the boards in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

The show will mark Presley's West End debut and is being produced by First Family Entertainment, the company behind some of the UK's largest panto productions.  In recent years they have lured over big Stateside names such as Pamela Anderson, David Hasselhoff and Henry "The Fonz" Winkler.   Last year saw Aussie's most celebrated housewife-turned-gigastar Dame Edna Everage in Dick Whittington.   Chief Executive Kevin Wood said "This year we have scooped the jackpot; it's only Priscilla Presley, Hollywood royalty, TV icon and the wife of the King of Rock 'n' Roll, Elvis Presley.  This show is going to be the best yet."

Presley herself is relishing the opportunity to play the Wicked Queen in the show: "The script is hilarious, my costume is sensational and I can't wait to get started and give the people of London my Wicked Queen.  What a wonderful honour to be spending Christmas in such a beautiful city and be a part of this festive family tradition."   Recent film adaptations of the classic fairytale have seen both Julia Roberts and Charlize Theron in the same role.

One-time mother-in-law to Michael Jackson, Presley was married to rock 'n' roll legend Elvis Presley between 1967 and 1973.  As well as playing Bobby Ewing's first true love Jenna Ewing in Dallas for five years in the 1980s, she is also well-known for her recurring role as Leslie Nielson's love interest in the three Naked Gun films.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs will play at the New Wimbledon Theatre from 7 December to 13 January.  Other confirmed cast members include comedian Jarred Christmas as Herman The Henchman and Life's Too Short star Warwick Davis as The Prof.
