Memphis at the Shaftesbury Theatre
Booking until 31st October 2015
Without doubt Memphis is my favourite West End musical of the year! Beverley Knight and Killian Donnelly deserve to have awards pouring out of their ears – they have set the West End on fire! Charting the rise of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Memphis tells a story of dreams and forbidden love. It has been a long time since I’ve heard such a loud and wild response from an audience. On the night I went people couldn’t have screamed or applauded any louder. Memphis is out of this world!
White Christmas at the Dominion Theatre
Booking until 3rd January 2015
If you’re looking for a fun, fluffy festive treat, look no further than White Christmas! Starring Aled Jones and Tom Chambers as two ex-army pals, this marks the first time that Irving Berlin's musical has been staged in the West End. The 18-piece orchestra sound absolutely divine and Randy Skinner's choreography is a dream. White Christmas does exactly what it says on the tin. It’s incredibly uplifting! There is no better way to get into the festive spirit.
Made In Dagenham at the Adelphi Theatre
Booking until 28th March 2015
Made In Dagenham is a fun new British musical with an interesting and relevant story to tell. Set in 1968, Gemma Arterton plays Rita O’Grady who leads a group of Essex girls working in a factory as they demand equal pay. Oozing with heart, Made In Dagenham is hilarious and features a lively score which brings audiences to their feet night after night.
Dance 'til Dawn at the Aldwych Theatre
Booking until 3rd January 2015
Loving every minute of this year’s Strictly Come Dancing? Dance fever has hit the West End! Strictly’s Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace have brought their brand new dance show Dance ‘til Dawn to London. The piece is very light-hearted and doesn't take itself too seriously. It is more daring than their previous show, Midnight Tango, exploring a wide range of dance. Vincent and Flavia are, of course, exceptionally talented and blow everyone away.
Sunny Afternoon at the Harold Pinter Theatre
Booking until 23rd May 2015
A fresh and exciting new musical, Sunny Afternoon follows the rise of The Kinks. The production is creative and more intimate than many other West End jukebox musicals. Even if you’re not overly familiar with The Kinks’ music, you can’t help but become wrapped up in the music and story. Sunny Afternoon has everyone up dancing at the end, but it is far more than just a party musical. I highly recommend it!
The Scottsboro Boys at the Garrick Theatre
Booking until 21st February 2015
Following its sell out run at the Young Vic last year, The Scottsboro Boys is now taking the West End by storm. It's also not very often that such a special show finds its way to the West End; The Scottsboro Boys is first class entertainment. The musical tells the true story of nine young black men who were falsely accused of rape in the 1930s. It is thought provoking and deeply moving, but also injected with deep passion. It’s always nice to see something completely different and there is nothing else like The Scottsboro Boys in the West End.
