It has been announced that Michael John LaChiusa’s historical musical Queen Of The Mist will receive a West End transfer to London’s Charing Cross Theatre for a limited 7-week run from 15 August to 5 October 2019. The news comes following a successful UK premiere at the Off-West End venue Jack Studio Theatre in April this year.

West End transfer for Queen Of The Mist

News of the Pint of Wine Theatre Company production's transfer to Charing Cross is accompanied by the announcement of a Queen Of The Mist London cast recording to be released prior to the 15 August opening of the new run. It has also been announced that the original cast of the UK premiere will reprise their roles for the transfer. The cast will be lead by Trudi Camilleri playing Anna Edson Taylor, the magnificent woman at the heart of this true-life tale.

The true story of Queen Of The Mist

This rousing musical tells the true story of Anna Edson Taylor who at the turn of the century, in a bid for notoriety and riches decided to become the first person to survive a trip over Niagara Falls in a barrel of her own design. The 63-year old school teacher is desperate to secure her financial future and convinced that there is greatness within her. Not content to live an ordinary life, this extraordinary woman sets out to navigate both the Falls and a sensation-hungry public, and it’s not quite clear which will be the more treacherous task. Our unexpected heroine fights for her legacy in a world of swindlers, assassins, revolutionaries, anarchists, activists and moralisers.
