Monique Young is a professional actress living in London. She is skilled in ballet, jazz and tap dancing, pas de deux and is a talented mezzo-soprano. She is also a qualified dance teacher. Monique is appearing as an ensemble in Mary Poppins.
Training:
Monique has trained extensively in acting and musical theatre. She attended Tring Park School For The Performing Arts, pursuing a course in Musical Theatre (2006 – 2011). She went to the Arts Educational Schools, London to earn a BA Honours degree in Musical Theatre (2011 – 2014) after which she was also in The Actors Class 2018.

Monique’s credits on stage include alternate Dale in the UK tour of Matthew White and Kenny Wax’s Top Hat; Penny Pingleton in Paul Kerryson’s Hairspray (Mark Goucher Ltd); Peggy Sawyer in Stephen Mear’s 42nd Street at The Theatre Du Chatelet; Bianca/Lois Lane in Matthew White’s Kiss Me Kate at the Kilworth House Theatre; Kathy Seldon in Robert Carsen’s Singin’ In The Rain at the Theatre Du Chatelet; Judy Haynes in Nikolai Foster’s White Christmas (Jamie Wilson Productions Ltd) at the Leicester Curve; ensemble, covert Winifred Banks and the title role in Richard Eyre’s Mary Poppins at the Cameron Mackintosh.
Workshops:
She was an ensemble in the workshop for Matthew White’s Candide at the Menier Chocolate Factory, and Cora Munro in Dan Jackson and Julian Ronnie’s The Last Of The Mohicans.
