Jacqueline Hughes is a popular musical theatre actress from Scotland, best known for her portrayal of Elphaba in Wicked on many occasions.
In 2019, her voice student Charlie was bullied, teased and physically abused in school because he likes musicals. Hughes took to Twitter, asking her friends in the industry to help him by sending motivational advice. She was praised for her act and, following her plea, her co-members sent more than 200 messages to cheer up Charlie. Hughes took a beautiful step against bullying.
Training:
Hughes trained at the Guildford School of Acting and achieved a First Class BA Honours Degree.

Her stage credits include The Steamie (The Steamie Productions, UK No.1 Tour, 2009) where she played Doreen; Mad About The Musicals (Mad About Productions, 2010) where she was a vocalist; Cinderella (Mad About Productions, 2010) where she portrayed the role of Fairy Godmother; Wicked (ACT Productions, 2011) in which she was a swing; Wicked (ACT Productions, 2012 & 2013) where she was a swing and understudied Madame Morrible; Wicked (ACT Productions, 2014) where she acted as a swing and an understudy of Elphaba. In 2015, She was the stand by Elphaba in the Wicked UK Tour (ACT Productions). In the same year, she appeared in Mary Poppins (the UK and International Tour by Disney and Cameron Mackintosh Ltd). In 2016, she appeared as Elphaba in the Wicked International Tour (ACT Productions).
She was in Company (Aberdeen Arts Centre, 2018) where she played Sarah, the same year in which she starred as the Enchantress in Beauty and the Beast (Qdos).

Her recordings include a singing session for Peter Pan (Evolution Productions Ltd, 2006) and her performance as a soloist in To Do. To Be. (2015).
