Claire O’Leary is a budding talent in the musical theatre scene in London. She is currently appearing as an ensemble in Les Misérables. Her specific skills in singing and dancing include tap, soprano and contemporary singing, as well as jazz dancing.
Training:
The Irish actress attended the National Youth Music Theatre (NYMT) and the Arts Educational Schools, London to pursue a 3-year Musical Theatre degree, graduating with a BA Honours in 2019.
Theatre:
Claire has appeared in a few musicals since 2014. Her credits include Penny Pingleton in the Irish tour of Joseph Walsh’ Hairspray at the Cork Opera House; Helene in Lottie Wakeham’s Sweet Charity (2015) at the NYMT; Wendla in Nikolai Foster’s Spring Awakening (2016); Niki Harris in Sarah Tipple’s Curtains (2018) at the Arts Educational Schools London, and cover Cosette/ensemble in Laurence Connor’s Les Misérables at the Cameron Mackintosh (2020).
In 2017, she had appeared as Diana Lake in Sarah Tipple’s French Without Tears at the Arts Educational Schools, London. In 2019, she played Lisa James in the workshop for Gregory Doran’s The Boy In The Dress (Royal Shakespeare Company).
Concerts:
Among her concert credits is ensemble in Julian Bird’s Olivier Awards in 2018 and soloist in Wayne Jordan’s The Broadway Proms at The Cork Opera House (2019).
