Alan Bradshaw is a London-based director, choreographer and actor who will appear as a part of the cast in Hello, Dolly! He is the Head of Dance at The Musical Theatre Academy as well as resident director and children’s director of School of Rock. Alan re-wrote the syllabuses for the Foundation Musical Theatre course at the ArtsEd London and led masterclasses for A Taste of the Business and workshops for West End at Pineapple Dance Studios.
Training:
Alan trained at the Guildford School of Acting and became a graduate with a First Class BA Honours degree in Musical Theatre (1999 – 2002). He is the winner of the Principal’s Award 2000.
Theatre:
His extensive list of credits includes Roger in the UK tour of Footloose; Purser in Anything Goes (UK tour); Bill Jukes in Peter Pan at the New Wimbledon Theatre and New Victoria Theatre Woking; Messenger in Macbeth at the Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre; Custus in Crazy For You at the Kilworth House Theatre; children’s dance captain/swing/cover Mr Braithwaite in Billy Elliot at the Victoria Palace Theatre; Doc Pierce in Calamity Jane at Shaftesbury Theatre and the UK tour; Wayne Sleep’s alternate in Beauty And The Beast at the Theatre Royal Windsor.
Direction:
As a director, Alan has worked on various projects such as Seussical, the creative director for Born To Run, Louder Than Words, Collections, DOMINIUM, and choreographer/director for The Wind In The Willows.
Choreography:
He is also involved in choreography and has worked in several projects. Some of them are An Audience With Danny La Rue (Jan 2002); High School Musical for That’s Entertainment (Harrods, London); The Mill at Sonning’s 30th Birthday Celebrations; Centenary Celebrations (Selfridges, Oxford Street); Jack And The Beanstalk; Sleeping Beauty; Just So; The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year; Tess Of The D’Urbevilles; By The Bog Of Cats.
